Most actors are grateful for their success and public admiration. However, there are a select few that have gotten to big for their boots, they seem to forget that they are still ordinary people, whose bullshit and spoiled behavior nobody wants to deal with.
According to Elle the following actors and actresses have terrible reputations for being too serious, others are reported to be intolerable divas, while others are just plain mean.
1. Russel Crowe
Russel has a bad reputation for getting Angry on Set. On the set of Gladiator, for example, he very openly criticized the script, saying:
“It was sh*t, but I’m the greatest actor in the world and I can make even sh*t sound good.”
2 | Bruce Willis
Kevin Smith the director of Cop Out says Willis was “soul-crushing to work with”. He wanted to over-shadow the director and refused to talk to the press during the promotional tour for the movie.
Smiths actual words at the release party were:
“I want to thank everyone who worked on the film […] except for Bruce Willis, who is a f–king dick.”
3 | Mike Meyers
This one came as a total surprise to use, he seems crazy in a goodwill and outgoing but nothing is less true. He has been often named a moody, temperamental, control freak and appears to be as egomaniacal as they come. Apparently, one crew guy even got fired for looking the actor in the eye while making Austin Powers.
4 | Megan Fox
Transformers director Michael Bay and Megan fox got into an argument before the shooting of the third film. Megan said Michael was ‘like Hitler on sets and a nightmare to work for.’
This opinion wasn’t much appreciated and Steven Spielberg told him to fire her immediately.
Speaking to GQ, Bay said:
“I wasn’t hurt, because I know that’s just Megan. Megan loves to get a response. And she does it in kind of the wrong way. I’m sorry, Megan. I’m sorry I made you work twelve hours. I’m sorry that I’m making you show up on time. Movies are not always warm and fuzzy.”
A couple of the crew members posted their own opinions, in defense of Bay, saying:
“And who is the real Megan Fox? She is very different than the academy nominee and winning actors we’ve all worked around. She’s as about ungracious a person as you can ever fathom.”
5 | Gwyneth Paltrow
As sweet and cute as she may seem, Gwyneth turns out to be a nightmare on set.
While working on Iron Man 2, she reportedly avoided Scarlett Johansson like the plague out of jealousy and competitiveness.
She’s also prone to making scathing comments about her actor friends:
“Even actresses that you really admire, like Reese Witherspoon, you think, ‘Another romantic comedy?’ You see her in something like Walk the Line and think, ‘God, you’re so great!’ And then you think, ‘Why is she doing these stupid romantic comedies?’ But of course, it’s for money and status.”
6 | Christian Bale
He is a brilliant actor, but everyone on set tends to hate his guts.. He seems to be very uninterested in the people he works with and doesn’t want to know anything about them. The reason behind this? He doesn’t want any personal relationships with his co-workers. He admits:
“I don’t want to know about the lives of other actors and I don’t want people to know too much about me. If we don’t know about the private lives of other actors, that leaves us as clean slates when it comes to playing characters. That’s the point, they can create these other characters and I can believe them. I think if you’re a good enough actor, that’s the way to longevity in the film business. Keep everybody guessing.”
7 | Shia de LaBeouf
Maybe he learned a thing or two from his former co-worker Megan Fox cause Shia turns out to be a jerk. Most people Shia has worked with have something unpleasant to say about him. Even Harrison Ford calls his Indiana Jones co-star “a f—king idiot.” And if Harrison says it, it must be true.
